Oscars 2011: It wasn't that bad Anne!

Well that wasn't exactly shocking or revelatory was it? The King's Speech and Inception took home 4, Social Network got three and Florence from the Machine... wait, what?

I actually thought James Franco and Anne Hathaway were pretty good - understated and not too showy (Hello Billy Crystal, who made an appearance looking like an egg rolled in pubes) and had a couple of genuinely funny moments (James' Charlie Sheen gag was great). Regardless of his age or problems with his voice, Kirk Douglas' mind was as sharp as ever and he gave the speech of the evening.

WTF moments went to:

Celine Dion singing the in Memoriam bit. Seriously, who the hell would want to be remembered with her honking sincerity in the background. Besides, no mention of Corey Haim?
Christian Bale's beard - looks like how I imagine Helena Bonham Carter's crotch looks - which I do often. Is it possible for a beard to be such a different colour to a head of hair?
Gwyneth Paltrow singing into a porcelain dildo. Stop.

What a load of old cobblers. How was "The Wolfman" even entered ? possibly the shittest monster film ever made, the make up effects were like Halloween night at the local infants school.

Oh and I see Alice Wonderland got a couple of awards too.....jesus wept.

Oh and RE: beards. My mate is half chinese and has black hair, but when he grows a beard it is orange. We call it the ginger waterfall.

Also, I feel I should say that this year is the first year that I have come straight to HM to find the Oscar winners, instead of Guardian or the Oscar website. Maybe you guys didn't actually list the Oscar winners the last two years, I don't remember. Or maybe it's a sign that HM is getting betterer. Either way, please put out an APB on the thiefy one from the Cheeky Girls please. If she nicks when a bit bored, I am worried about what she'll escalate to when really bored (which I can only assume she is, given that she's done fuck all since Pride and the aforementioned nicking.)
