You're kiddin', man?

It might have been dubbed the 'young Oscars' this year but it doesn't seem like the guest list has been relaxed - if anything, there are less DD-listers than normal (ie Kim Kardashian is missing), which obviously means less sateen numbers to put in our red carpet round-up, shame... In fact, we don't even have Beyonce in House of Dereon...

According to the experts (which is actually Kelly Osbourne on E! channel :-/ ), the dress theme at this year's Oscars ceremony is 'lilac and nude'... 'Nude' in fashion sense means beige, not naked - although MIla Kunis' top half almost is... Because of despite this, she's made it into our 'best dressed' list (the gown is Elie Saab, fashion fans), as has Scarlett Johansson - despite her messy hair - in her see-through Dolce and Gabbana number. Meanwhile, fellow good-dresser Michelle Williams went for Chanel, Cate Blanchett chose Givenchy and Mandy Moore had an all-over-body vajazzle, but we liked it - as did we Taylor Swift's sparkly mini at the Vanity Fair after party. There's also Gwyneth Paltrow redeeming herself for the 2002 Alexander McQueen faux pas, Jennifer Lawrence working the red dress better than anyone else (although she's been accused of copying Scarlett Johannson's 2006 frock), Reese Witherspoon keeping things simple but winning the best hair prize, and Amy Adams striking in L'Wren Scott.

As for the fashion culprits, best supporting actress winner Melissa Leo also takes home the prize for worst dressed in her dollie frock, while Florence Welch lets the Brits down in her washed-out Kate Bush cast-off. Then there's Nicole Kidman who's accessoried her frightening face and husband with a matching dress. Entirely less surprisingly, we have Katie Price at Elton's after party, plus Madonna and her knickers at the Vanity Fair. Talking of which, Cameron Diaz finds herself on the bad list too due to her Madge arms. Also at the after parties, we have Claire Danes in a straightjacket and Anna Paquin gone flamingo and Emma Stone letting us down terribly. Finally, it's mean to include Hugh Jackman's wife Deborra-Lee Furnes, it's just that if anyone was going to do a Black Swan Tribute with feathers, we really hoped it would be Bjork back again... Oscar classic:

There's also a LOADS more dress in the Oscars after show party gallery. Rosario Dawson's robe is a winner (here),

  • PPS I don't know who Jennifer Lawrence is, but my knob would like me to find out.

  • People wank on about Heath Ledger in Brokeback Mountain, but I thought Michelle Williams acted everyone else off the screen in that movie. Despite having been in Dawson's Creek. Really quite an achievement.

PS Madonna, definitely still would. (That said, I'd pork Liz McDonald, so my opinion isn't oft sought on these matters).

  • While sprinter Caster Semenya had a good going over to see if s/he was a fella, no such search for Florence and her lungs. If she hasn't got a Y chrome tucked away in a bollock somewhere, my name's Bob Geldolf.

  • Am I the only person in the WORLD who thought Bjork's swan dress was epic and super cool? I thought it then when I was 14 and I think it still.

Also, I was about to ay Scarlett looks a little rough, then remembered she is going through a divorce from a man she definitely was in love with, from a marriage she almost certainly went into thinking "marriage is forever and not a flippant gesutre" so I will let her off.

    Michelle Williams is amazing.
