OK fair enough, Peter Andre's brain might be a bit frazzled after having to imagine the skewering that his estranged wife is getting from noon to night from her new boyfriend. But there is no excuse for the delusions of grandeur he is suffering from at the moment.

Speaking as he prepares to release his comeback single, 'Behind Closed Doors', the singer compared himself to Elton John, Rod Stewart and Robbie Williams.

Not setting your sights too high then, Pete. We would have thought that Lee Ryan's solo career would have been a more appropriate level.

Andre told The Sun: "When Elton, Rod and people like that were signed up they had seven-album deals.

"It will take me two or three credible albums to be mentioned in the same breath but that's what I aspire to.

"I believe I can do what Robbie Williams did.

"People gave Robbie s*** for being the fat kid from Take That when he was doing Freedom.

"He felt how I feel now."

What - fat?

Let's just compare Peter's work to Elton's to see if they're in the same league...

I still fail to feel sorry for this idiot - he's not exactly a stranger to the meejah and their exploitative goings-on, but he surely must have known what he was getting into when he married the orange munter. You know, when you meet the girl who could be "the One", I'm sure the fact she'd had her flange and tits out on public display, and been the receptacle for (several) footballers' jizz would not mark her down as perfect bride and mother material.

And let's not forget the sickly TV shows and "songs"... now fuck off back to Oz
