It's pretty safe to say that Peter Crouch didn't get a lingering kiss and a hand job from Abi Clancy when she came home last night. After reports that he shagged a prostitute, she went ballistic at him and unleashed her most feared weapon - her mother.

The SUn reports that upon reading the story in News Of The World, Clancy phoned Crouch up and with precise observation correctly called him a "cheating bastard".

He was devastated and begged her for forgiveness, although the fact that he spent the whole day on the golf course doesn't really help him convince the world he was remotely arsed about the whole thing.

Abi shouldn't really worry though - after all, look what happened to National Sweetheart Cheryl Cole™ when Ashley dipped his wick in every orifice going.

Not saying that his behaviour is in any way excusable, but you could have some degree of understanding if the hooker was a stunning beauty and Abi Clancy was a ropey boiler - but the other way round?

Peter on the other hand has to contend with Karen Clancy - the mother. She wants to give him a good hiding apparently. Perhaps she's short of cash - he'll pay €1000 a night for that!
