Arctic Roll

Here's something to give Patrick Wolf another hissy fit – we're not sure what was on his rider, but we suspect the Arctic Monkeys bled the Reading/Leeds purse dry with their £2 million appearance fee...

OK, so there's still Bestival and a few others to come, but we all know that the moment the last metaller leaves Reading train station really marks the end of the summer festival season.

Still, ticket for next year's event probably go on sale in about 5 minutes – the organisers will need to replenish their budgets after spending the amount of Kerry Katona's alleged drug bill on booking the headlining acts.

How many warm paper cups of Carling do you need to sell to make the Arctic Monkeys £2 million fee?

  • Er mate i think youve got me completely wrong. I said they were the best bands of the weekend - i didnt say i only liked those bands ever or they were my favourite bands... and when did i ever say i thought my taste in music was superior??

Im pretty sure i ve been to more gigs and seen more bands than you ever have - i used to be in a band myself and most of my friends are in successful bands and i now DJ.

and girls cant catch are shite.

And just cause i like pop doesnt mean i dont like some obsure indie band that only 5 people have ever heard of, so grow up and widen your music tastes. Hating pop just cause its not cool is so over.

  • You haven't been to many gigs and seen many bands have you? Fucking hell you're easily pleased, I expect you'll think that Girls Aloud are 'ironic'.

I couldn't give a wallaby's cunt on your tastes in music, but nearly every twat who comes on here like you thinks their taste is superior to everyone elses. You should read the Girls Can't Catch thread as to what we care about the allegedly discerning muso. Widen your horizons, listen to more variation, god you might just surprise yourself....

  • Mate, there are two things wrong with that - the list of the acts and the word "outstanding".

  • I missed Artics because after the Prodigy played i got stuck in a hillsborough style crowd crush and nearly died - no exageration.

Patrick Wolf , Florence and the machine, Friendly Fires, Metric and Delphic were the outstanding acts of the weekend.
