Today we have two tales of two odd X Factor couples. Two very odd couples indeed. First of all we have 24-year-old X Factor runner-up Rebecca Ferguson, who says she is "really in love" with fellow X Factor runner-up, 18-year-old Zayn Malik from One Direction - ODD. And secondly, we bring you rumours of a relationship between Alex Reid and X Factor demon Katie Waissel - ODD. Odder than the oddest of Oddmen on Oddmas Day. 

So, we'll start with Odd Couple No.1, shall we? Rebecca Ferguson and Zayn Malik.

We refused to believe the rumours back in March when the NOTW let the secret slip. But you can't blame us for thinking it was a steaming pile of bull poo. She's a 24-year-old single mother, just about to take her only shot at a career in the music industry, and she goes off and falls in love with a baby-faced teenager, who could become a step-Dad at the age of 18. All sounds very 'Hollyoaks', doesn't it? Yet it is all true - as Rebecca herself confirmed this weekend.

"We're really in love and it's hard to see how negative things have become. I want people to know that I'm happy, he's happy and we're in a loving, caring relationship. It's sad that people are so against it. I just spoke to Zayn and that's how he feels too. He's actually very mature. He's quiet and really, really nice.

 

I've got a career, I've got my own record deal and money, and I've got my own life. I'm not gaining anything from this. It's genuine love."

N'awwwwwwwww, isn't that just so sweet?

Will it last? Will it fuck.

Next, we have Alex Reid and Katie Waissel - the unlikeliest of couples in the real world but the likeliest of couples in the showbiz world. In fact, they are probably the perfect couple in the showbiz world.

According to the NOTW - again - Reid's been pursuing her for the last six months, after admitting during the X Factor last year that "I really like Katie Waissel. I like the freaky ones." Such a way with words. Now they've had a source confirm that the pair are the hottest new couple in town...

"She turned him down for weeks but eventually relented because he was so persistent. Now he won't leave her alone. Alex reckons they're going to become a new showbiz glamour couple.

 

Alex is not Katie's normal type - she goes for trendy rockers in skinny jeans."

It doesn't matter what kind of jeans they wear, as long as they've won Celebrity Big Brother and have a column in Star Magazine they are the one for Katie Waissel.
