Alex Reid has announced that Dane Bowers is lucky to be alive following their fracas at Katie Price's New Year's Eve party, during which Bowers also threatened to top Reid. And the gruesome twosome are just hours from entering the Celebrity Big Brother house. Odds on for 180,000 complaints to Ofcom before tomorrow!

Reid, who biffed Bowers after he called him a "dickhead", told the NOTW:

"I just went. I put him down. He's lucky he's not dead. I'd had a few drinks."

Nice.

Apparently the cage-fighting cross-dresser elbowed Bowers in the head before taking inspiration from The Karate Kid and felling him with a martial arts-style headkick.

He added to a friend:

"I never get in fights, ever. I was like, 'Come on, please, let's go,' and he was lairing it up. He took my kindness as a weakness."

Except professionally of course.

But despite their fight and reciprocated death threats, Channel 4 gave the go-ahead yesterday for both Reid and Bowers to enter the house.

Let's hope tonight's show consists of plenty of booze!
