Rihanna dances with robots on stage at the Echo Awards in Germany

Beth Ditto was there too, thankfully not copying Rihanna but instead choosing Ming from Flash Gordon as her muse.
Lady Gaga didn't show up so it was left to Rihanna to do the whole cyber-sex-woman-with-a-heart schtick, turning up looking as though she should either be advertising sweetcorn or that she'd smuggled Verne Troyer past security in her trousers.
Gaga won 3 awards, Robbie won one, Depeche Mode won another and so did, erm, Green day - firmly cementing Germany in the forefront of popular music culture for another year.
K$sha turned up too - well there was free food.
