Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode 2 on DVD - Out July 27

It’s hard to wholeheartedly like ‘Robot Chicken’ or other examples of ‘adult animation’ because of the sort of people they attract. People who quote 'Family Guy' in casual conversation. People who think it’s funny to put on bad American accents and say ‘dude’ a lot. People who watch Wayans Brothers movies on the internet.

Which is a shame really because ‘Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode 2’ is pretty funny for the most part, especially if you’d know your way around a Star Wars convention.

Still, the most incredible thing about this second (count ’em) Star Wars-themed release is that it’s only 22 minutes long. Surely 22 minutes doesn’t merit a DVD release? With an RRP of £15.99, that comes to 73 pence a minute, which is quite a lot to watch the hilarious consequences of Emperor Palpatine going to get a haircut.

Extras: They’ve had to pad it out quite a bit to excuse the brief runtime, so there are a handful of dull behind-the-scenes bits and then a few arbitrarily selected episodes of Robot Chicken. Must try harder.
