Calm(el) down!

Russell Brand and Katy Perry will tie the knot in India later today - so expect to hear all about that tomorrow (and no doubt for the next ten weeks of your life). However, as you do on the day before your wedding, Brand took his guests on a safari trip to spot some tigers and ride some camels. But they also spotted the pesky paps hiding in the bushes, who were duly beaten up and robbed by his bodyguards...

If today's ceremony is as entertaining as the pre-wedding events then we're in for a treat. Here's what allegedly happened down in the desert yesterday...

1. A guard approached the paparazzi vehicle, smacked the driver square in the face and nicked his keys.

2. When one of the paps tried to get the keys back, he was attacked and beaten up by the guard - smashing his glasses and his camera

3. Two other paps were also assaulted as they came to their poor friend's rescue, with one suffering a bleeding wound on his head.

4. The men then scattered, leaving the paps stranded in the safari park - who had to wait to be rescued by park rangers later on who had taken the keys from the guards.

We don't know how much of that is true, but it's still an amazing story. And, incidentally, sounds similar to something likely to happen in a shite Russell Brand film.

But despite being beaten to a pulp and mugged of their possessions, the paparazzi still managed to snap a couple of photos of Brand enjoying the sights and David Baddiel riding a camel's hump.

  • More to the point, does anyone really care what happens to paps ?
