So Quentin Tarantino, a man who's not exactly known for his sense of humour, was roasted in NY last night, which apparently means he was publically humiliated in front of a large audience. Kind of like a Hole concert.

Unfortunately for Quentin, most of his friends aren't funny unless you write the joke down and then give them a few weeks to rehearse as well as a kilo of blue (and only blue) smarties, 20 bottles of freshly bottled Nicaraguan spring water and a dog whose bark sounds like 'yes'. Except for that one time Uma told that joke about the hot dog and the frog with no legs, that was pretty great.

Anyway, here's a sampler of the great stuff knocking around last night: Jeffrey Ross said Tarantino had "changed the face of cinema," but wished "cinema would return the favor," while Whitney Cummings made a joke about how Eli Roth's work was similar to Kathy Griffin's face because "No matter how much you cut it," she said, "it's still horrible." We actually kind of liked that last one.

Joining Quentin at what was must have been a fairly quiet night were his close pals Uma Thurman (who's made it into today's pics) Samuel L Jackson, Eli Roth (it still hurts), Steve Buscemi, Patricia Arquette, Sarah Silverman (she's still not funny) Neve Campbell, Jerry Lewis and Rosario Dawson.
