Britain's Got A Mouth On It

Don't worry about Simon Cowell everybody, he'll be ok. Despite an increasing backlash against the X Factor and US émigré Cheryl Cole, the chief freak wrangler has managed to ignore most of the offensive rubbish sent his way by over-zealous celebrity bloggers and angry DM columnists, instead focussing on holidays, birthdays and looking after his pair of breeding swans.

Unfortunately, it's not just the proles who are more than a little angry with ol' bear head, the hatred has now spread to important people, like one of the founders of Cream (the one who wasn't Eric Clapton or Ginger Baker).

Jack Bruce, speaking to Uncut magazine (via The Telegraph) went to town on poor Simon, calling him horrible, hurtful names, and even called for his death at one point:

"He should be exterminated.

"You can pretty much guarantee that had that bastard Cowell been around at the beginning of the '60s, he would have stopped it all from happening: 'Bob Dylan, sing in tune and stop whining, you big-nosed bastard'. No, he's a human fire blanket. A vile individual."

We're not sure whether 'human fire blanket' is as much of an insult as it sounds, but we'll stick with it.

As if in preparation for this very moment, Sir Elton John also had a pop at Cowell's musical strip-mining operation. Except he said it last year. Spooky huh?

"I'm not a fan of talent shows. I probably wouldn't have lasted if I'd gone on one."

Come on Elton, Matt Cardle won it after all.
