A private evening of music and tributes was held at London's Palace Theatre in memory of Stephen Gately yesterday evening, and guests included exisitng members of Boyzone and Gately's husband, who had helped organise the event, Andrew Cowles...

The evening was hosted by Christopher Biggins, Sir Ian McKellan was due to read poetry and performers included Beverley Knight and Liz McClarnon.

Meanwhile, Mikey, Ronan, Keith and Shane were said to be horrified, and we're not too surprised, following the detailed story Georgi Dochev, the 25-year-old model who slept with Gately's husband on the day that he died, sold to the Sunday Mirror.

Dochev met Cowles and Gately on a night out on Majorca, before returning to Gately's apartment in the early hours.

In the kiss and tell, Dochev told how he twice went and had a cigarette on the sofa where Gately had passed out, and how on the second occasion he went back and slept with Cowles. While Gately could have already have died, from a build-up of fluid on the lungs.

He said:

"I smoked a cigarette on the sofa. I was sitting next to Stephen and I noticed he was in exactly the same position, sort of curled up with his face obscured by a cushion, but I didn't want to disturb him so I went back to bed.

 

"At 12 I got up and had another cigarette and Stephen was in the same position. I went into the other room where Andy had been sleeping. I was naked and he said to me 'you look cold, why don't you get into bed?'.

 

"One thing led to another and we had sex for about an hour. We couldn't have known Stephen was probably already dead."

A source said:

"The lads are horrified. It was a day for celebrating Steo's life - not dwelling on the night of his death. Everyone is just sick that this man is profiting from Stephen's death."

And the timing was a bit off but at least it wasn't the day before Gately's funeral, a la Moir...

Also at the memorial last night, Cherie Blair, Bruno Tonioli, Duncan James, Lisa Snowdon, Shane Ward, Kelly Hoppen and Christopher Dean.
