As far as we gather, the Venice Film Festival is a bit like Cannes - expect for with the less celebrities and less sun - in fact, this picture probably marks the moment that darkness descended over the event (NSFW).

But despite her appearance in 2006 (see link above), Lindsay Lohan and her watery canel were said to have been blocked from attending the screening of her latest film Machete at the event this year, although Tarantino and Jessica Alba did make it (pic 4).

Meanwhile, Sofia Coppola was over to promote her new film Somewhere, which stars the new Dakota Fanning, Elle Fanning (the Fannings are like the Culkin family when it comes to churning child-stars out) and is unlikely to earn her forgiveness for Marie Antoinette.

Hollywood puppet-master and human-sized toad Harvey Weinstein was also there, despite the fact his wife gave birth a couple of days ago (here she is - she must really love his brain).

As was Michelle Williams, the slaggy one from Dawson's Creek who's now the most talented, with a new hair cut.
