If somebody could tell us wtf is going on in Lady Gaga's new music video then we'd be most appreciative...

Like her last video with Beyonce for 'Telephone', the latest one for 'Alejandro' is also around nine minutes long - and the song doesn't even begin until the two minute mark. How long until Gaga releases an entire feature film to accompany her music?

I do like a bit of cliched pop sometimes, Jiggery. As much as I love all the lovely, intelligent and angry music in the world, occasionally I also just want a bit of mindless nonsense to dance around to. I really like the idea of this place as a particularly vicious knitting circle.

I heard this track on the weekend and thought it was the Eurovision winner from Germany (having not seen/heard the real one). Can't we get British nationality for her? This sort of stuff would mean Eurovision in the bag for life. In the bag, for life. Rather than in the Bag for Life.

Well, each to their own, (and of course, any contributor to our little sewing circle is automatically given credit for levels of taste beyond the ken of the rest of mankind) but to me her 'music' is recycled tired dance-pop cliches.

Her PR is an amalgam of wannabee shock / raiding Madonna's back catalogue so rapaciously it's painful. Basically masking the fact she's nothing more than a braying clothes horse, trudging the same 'ersatz sexy' path as every other pop diva around at present, except with more annoying pretension to some higher art form 'because she writes her own songs' and churns out 7 minute videos for 3 minute songs.

Needless to say she's a cunt too, of course.

That is exactly what I meant- she is very talented and I love her flamboyance, it is just that she does sometimes slip down the tired old route that Madonna has trampled to death- being 'shocking' for the sake of it. Madonna has to do it because she can't sing and can't write songs, LGG doesn't need to resort to pointless sensationalist tactics. That saying, this particular song is a bit rubbish.

Have to defend Gaga there. Madonna is nothing more than a talentless cynic. Whatever you think of her music, Gaga writes her own stuff and is genuinely an oddball. More power to anyone who doesn't replicate the same boring shit that's been occupying the charts for the last ten years. Arctic Monkeys, Razorlight, Girls Aloud and the fucking Saturdays. Yawn.

Definitely some steampunk, definitely some futuristic S&M neo-Fascism, and a whole lot of Catholic Church-bothering going on there. I kind of like it, although it seems to be three different videos run together. The rubber nun's outfit, the cross strategically over the crotch, and the felating of the rosary were the highlights for me.

Reminds me of the time I dressed up as a vaguely naughty nun (habit hitched up to reveal a black stocking, plus some red lippy and a ciggie for good measure) for sixth form rag week and some bloody woman doing her shopping with a wicker basket over her arm and a velvet alice band (you know the type) shouted at me that I was "Disgusting". Thing is, I was actually a very nice girl when I was 17- the disgusting stuff happened later.
