We Will Rock You unveils cast, warning includes Jonathan Wilkes and Curly

For reasons known only to Ben Elton and Satan, the cast of We will Rock You in Ireland includes Jonathan Wilkes, Curly from Corrie and Brenda from the X Factor 2005.

Scientists have spent the past 8 years trying to find a way of making the Ben Elton scribed "Rock Opera" We Will Rock You even more sphincter-squeezing and painful than it already has been.

After some pretty tough clinical trials and government legislation, the formula for Hell on Earth was unveiled at Dublin's O2. The combination they had been searching for was as follows:

Wilkes x (X Factor-Coronation Street) + You've Been Framed + Glitter - dignity = Armageddon.

I'm no expert, but I get the impression Jonathan Wilkes has been studying his one rock salute in the mirror a bit too much, or he really needs some more material...

I actually do like musicals. Just not flaccid overblown rock operas based on the music of a band I cannot stand.

It's a shame to see you are all criticising it when it seems you have never seen it! I guess you either like musicals or you don't which is totally fair enough, but as a fan of musicals I have seen this & I thought it was brilliant!

I have also seen Jonathan Wilkes in previous shows and I think he has a pretty good singing voice and is (in my opinion) a pretty good actor too, which is all that is really required of him so it seems mean to be slating him for the sake of it!

Don't knock it till you've tried it and all that....................

Wilkes' costume confuses me. I didn't know Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter had anything to do with Queen...

How unfortunate. In picture 2 Jonathan Wilkes looks like that taxi-rapist John Warbuoys. And look how cheap the costume is. It's proper Galaxy Quest. You can see the hairline lifting.

Why go to the trouble of doing a promotional photoshoot and then set it in what looks like the basement area of some office block? I cannot bring myself to think about the actual people in the photos.
