We're not really sure why he's doing this, since everyone knows it starts with a sob story (one of the contestants) and ends with a sob story (most of the public when we reach the week where Jedwardgate or Wagnergate kicks in).
But here it is - cueing up for what must be a certain Cheryl Cole/Simon Cowell duo with pleaseletitbeGeorgeMichael as the wingman...

Do you think the dutch xfactor has 'high speed gabba' night with a chubby postman going white and clutchin his chest after his rendition of 'i want to be a hippy', or finnish xfactor has 'satanic death metal night' with a middle aged nurse battering 'cannibal corpse'.
Are we going to get American X Factor aired over here in a current fashion, or like ITV2 confusingly screen seemingly-random episodes of American Idol so that whenever I'm idly channel surfing I find myself faced with a ragtag bunch of MENTAL Americans, and they are ALWAYS doing rock week. I swear I saw one with Kelly Clarkson in it the other day (bless her tubby face).
What Simon failed to say is that anyone with half a brain will find this format interesting, the ones with a full brain you will find the show bog standard.
