Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, LA Reid, Paula Abdul are the judges and the show will be hosted by Nicole Scherzinger and Enrique Iglesias - if you believe Twitter and various unconfirmed reports as much as we do. So take the aforementioned names as as complete gospel. Unfortunately gospel isn't something that would get through to Boot Camp, but Paul Abdul you chancer! You're going to HOLLYWOOD BABY! Sorry - wrong show...

Our thoughts? Enrique and Nicole are great choices for hosts - well known names who are actually really good in front of the camera.

LA Reid adds some "music biz" gravitas to proceedings, reminding the audience that as well as shit auditions and tears about relatives it's also a major record deal and long term career (ish). This allows Cowell the freedom to banter with Cheryl Cole more than he wold otherwise get away with.

But Cheryl Cole.. hmmmm... sorry Simon - I don't get it. Perfectly suited for the UK because she's arguably the biggest female pop star over here. In the states she'll be judged on her merits as a reality show judge, but without the stateside credentials that see Paula Abdul given her wildcard "joke" entry as a judge. Paula was always the worst/best thing about American Idol depending on your perspective, but may feel as though she's no longer Simon's foil with that pesky Geordie wedged inbetween them.

All in all Simon, Syco and Sony BMG will no doubt be overjoyed and relieved to the point of tears to learn that we approve. Enough of a shambles to keep us interested, enough proper music stuff to make it valid.
