Mmmm, Cornish pasties. Is there anything better than a good Cornish pasty? If there is, we don’t want to know about it. Brad Pitt clearly agrees, as he ordered a whopping 700 of the flaky tasty pastry treats this week for the shoot of zombie movie World War Z.

OK, OK, they weren’t all for him, obviously, but we’d like to imagine, just for a moment, that Brad Pitt has a Cornish pasty addiction. Truthfully, and more boringly, the regular lunch order for the shoot hadn’t arrived, so they ordered in the glut of pasties and a few hundred sarnies to keep the hungry crew going. 

Imagine that, though, eh? Working in a humble wee pasty shop (or a large branch of a successful bakery chain…), and getting a call saying Brad Pitt wants a whole load of pasties! It must surely be the most exciting thing that has ever happened to a bakery in the history of baking! Marketing boss Paul Pearce told the Express: 

“I knew Brad Pitt was filming in the area but initially I thought ‘This has got to be a wind up’.
'But as the conversation went on I realised the request was genuine and we set about it. It was a bit of a mad rush.”

Baker Adrian Evans added: 

“It was absolute craziness for the rest of the day. We were cooking batch after batch to get the order out.”

Now, we could nitpick and say that it is unlikely that Brad himself actually called the bakery, and that as yet his specific feelings on the pasties themselves are unknown. We could even go so far as to say that Pitt’s name was likely only mentioned to force a small bakery into agreeing to an order that would exhaust their staff and supplies, and that he was not even party to the decision. But we won’t, because the lovely pasty-makers at Rowe’s will be telling this story to all their friends and families, every Christmas, for the rest of their lives. And who are we to Take That away from them? Exactly.

So, Brad Pitt <3 Cornish pasties, yeah?
