It was the first ever Critics' Choice Television Awards in Beverly Hills last night and apparently it caused a bit of a stir because it was televised, something that sometimes means winners are picked based on availability rather than talent. Still, while the Critics' Choice Television Awards telly show might not win a Critics' Choice Television Award trophy because the critics are moaning that the critics didn't choose impartially, our critical opinion is that they chose rather well...

... although they seem to be a bit indecisive, awarding Christina Hendricks and Margo Martindale a joint prize. What about a tie-break? Any ideas? The other tie was between the show Hoarders and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. We can see how the conversion over who gets to keep the statuette could pan out... The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: "You don't really want this, do you? Hoarders: 'No, not really".

In other Critics' Choice Television Awards news, Cat Deeley hosted it. Wow, in your face Cheryl Cole and your regional UK accent. Also in attendance, we have Michael FITT, Courteney Cox, Zooey Deschanel, Danny Devito and Sarah Michelle Gellar back back back.

  • Use of the word "tied" in the same sentence as the words "Christina" and "Hendricks" has made me come over all faint. Faint and horny - two things you never want at the same time, but the blood has to come from somewhere.
