Two wrong 'uns and a Wright

Tweed's back at Redbridge Magistrates’ Court, but this time it's not because he smashed a golf club over a teenagers head, tried to strangle a taxi driver or got accused of rape, it's because he assaulted a man outside Mark Wright's nightclub, although apparently that was only because the guy said he had a petrol-bomb. It's always problematic ordering a Jägerbomb over loud music, isn't it?

The usual air of sophistication outside Deuces Bar and Lounge in Chigwell was temporarily shattered on 3 January when Jade Goody's widower assaulted a builder called Tom Grantham. Tweed has just just pleased guilty to the charge, although he claims he was just trying to protect the property.

Appearing in court alongside Mark Wright, who is accused of using threatening behaviour, and his brother Lewis, who also admitted common assault, his defence was that "[Grantham] or someone with him say they [were] going to petrol-bomb the bar."

His lawyer, Mr Jaffe, added:

"[Grantham] raised his arms to Mark Wright so what Jack did was to hit him and then he tried to kick him."

It is claimed Tweed and Wright had invested a "substantial amount of money" in a refurbishment project at Deuces Bar after a previous fire bomb and arson attack.

The brothers will be sentenced on August 16, while Wright denies using threatening behaviour.

The whole sorry saga trial continues.

Really fancy a Jaffa Cake now.
