We were going to mention Mark Wahlberg's new business venture on Friday but then got into this whole Googling thing and reminded ourselves of that attempted murder incident and then just sort of felt sad and depressed, wondering whether the man the actor blinded in one eye would want to eat at the restaurant, even if it was brilliantly named Wahlburgers. Probably not :(

Still, Marky Mark is reformed, so let's not get too bogged down with the third paragraph on his Wikipedia page. If you read down, you'll discover that not only was he ace in the Departed (we put that bit in), but he's produced some HBO gold like Boardwalk Empire, How To Make It In America and Entourage, as well launching a career in the food industry, with plans for new restaurant Wahlburgers in Boston.

Unsurprisingly, it will serve meat in a bun, as well as possibly even spawning a reality show.

Talking to L.A. Harbor Boys & Girls Club (eh?), Marky Mark said:

"Maybe I'll be the Charlie's Angels of reality TV. You'll hear my voice. But obviously it's something that we'd want to control in every aspect and produce and make sure that we were doing something really quality."

Great, and it's a TV format that can be sold to loads of other celebs, like...

  • Stephen's Fries

Erm???

  • @tescopop - oh Tesco, Stella its so good to see you, HM just isn't the same without your regular comments. Anyhoo, just to let you know that my fancy is for his brother Donnie. I mean, did you ever watch Boomtown? Not only did it feature the lovely Donnie but also another favourite of mine, Neil McDonough. Sadly it was cancelled right in the middle of Season 2, stunner. So no danger of us falling out over Mark, I won't have to drop you where you stand. Phew.

  • I have deep, deep, longings for Mark Wahlberg. Both in his Marky Mark days and now. Attempted murder will never stand in my way. Or something.

  • Hi, if the corner returned, then perhaps more people would read stuff here because they would like coming here and so on. Just a thought. I know you won't do this. But it seems like a no brainer to me. Whoop. This story now has THREE comments :-) MASSIVE
