We are not making this up

We've been attempting to write this story all day and failing because WE CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS REAL EVEN THOUGH IT IS. Tim Burgess, of The Charlatans, invented a breakfast cereal for his own amusement. It was called Totes Amazeballs. Kelloggs saw it on his Twitter. And now it's a real thing. Not only that but Tim will be selling bowls of it at Kendal Calling festival, as part of his Tim Peaks Diner WHICH IS ALSO AN ACTUAL THING. We need a lie down.

Tim explained what happened (as best he could) to the Manchester Evening News, saying:

“I was thinking it'd be cool to come up with a breakfast cereal - I heard someone use the expression Totes Amazeballs and it sounded like something from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - I sent a cheeky tweet saying I'd invented a new cereal and that Kellogg's were interested! But within an hour they'd got in touch.”

As you can see from the packshots, it’s quite something. Writing on Twitter, The Charlatans singer said:

“Surreal cereal – it’s the future”

And if you’d like to taste some of Tim’s “schhhweet!” stuff (which is a combination of Coco Rocks, shortbread, raisins and marshmallows) it will be available at Kendall Calling, in the Lake District, on July 27 – 29, 2012. All profits go to The David Lynch Foundation. YES THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT THIS STORY NEEDED – ANOTHER LAYER OF WEIRD!

We also think @Tim_Burgess might be addicted to Twitter. He’s on at least 90 tweets a day.
