All the pics from Cannes. But what’s with the unnecessary apostrophes?

It was the 13th annual NRJ awards, in Cannes this weekend. Adele won some things. And some people who weren’t. Hilariously, Mika won International Male Artist of the Year. Mika! Europeans are funny. The talk on the Internet is that Female Artist of the Year Shy’m might have a nicer face to look at than Shakira, who was given the NRJ Award of Honor, alongside Justin Bieber (i.e. the Thanks For Turning Up award). Hmm. We’ll be the judge of that.

Here’s who won what. We haven’t heard of most of them. And what’s with the apostrophe business in Keen’V and Shy’m? You’d never catch Adel’e doing that.

Francophone Revelation of the Year: Keen'V
International Revelation of the Year: Adele
Francophone Female Artist of the Year: Shy'm
International Female Artist of the Year: Rihanna
Francophone Male Artist of the Year: M. Pokora
International Male Artist of the Year: Mika
Francophone Group/Duo of the Year: Simple Plan
International Group/Duo of the Year: LMFAO
Francophone Song of the Year: M. Pokora - À nos actes manqués
International Song of the Year: Adele – "Someone Like You"
Album of the Year: Nolwenn Leroy - "Bretonne"
Music Video of the Year: LMFAO feat. Lauren Bennett & GoonRock – "Party Rock Anthem"
NRJ Award of Honor: Shakira and Justin Bieber
NRJ Award of Diamond: Mylène Farmer

So anyway, this Shy’m person. She looks like this:

And Shakira, she still looks like this:

No contest.
