Anyone thinking that a woman who was very publicly beaten up by her boyfriend shouldn't be glorifying gang violence, especially not when she's a role model to millions of very impressionable teens, is wrong. Very wrong.

Because it's just a laugh, isn't it? It doesn't mean anything. Rihanna's new Thug Life tattoo across her knuckles? Come on. It's from a Tupac Michael Winstone Shakur album called Thug Life, which wasn't about violence, violence and more violence, it was actually about his relationship with an adorable little koala bear called Tim and is an acronym for Tim's Hugs are Unbelievably Great. See, it's not so menacing now, is it?

Unfortunately, not many people agree with the sweet little popstar who's cute as a button and has a smile like sunshine, and so she had to take to Twitter to explain herself:

"I #LOVE my new tattoo!!! Can't wait for yall to see it!!! I got it in 'Tibetan' this time!!! #approved," 

"Chill babes #noshade. Err'body has an opinion, but yall know what yall can do with them!!! #THUGLIFE (sic)"

"I'm thinking I shoulda got a tear drop instead!!! #THUGLIFE maybe next time. 

"All eyes on Rih, betta picture me rollin' #THUGLIFE."

Isn't she just the sweetest? No idea what she's actually saying most of the time, but then again, kids will be kids! Also, a teardrop is a lovely idea for a tattoo. It shows that sometimes we all get sad, but when that happens we just pick ourselves up and just keep on truckin', isn't that right, gang?
