The hottest male and female science-fiction stars
Set phasers to stunned
Thu, 01/09/2011 - 10:23 by John HillSince most of our readers are either nurses, firefighters, lumberjacks or Fortune 500 CEOs, they don't have much time to spare when they've finished reading Holy Moly, sending emails to Mr HM asking him to fire writers or leaving racist comments on the DM website, and as a result possibly won't have seen much science fiction on the television recently. Star Wars doesn't count, it was 35 years ago. Exactly.
So, to encourage all you 'hard working' readers to start watching more TV instead of doing important things like healing and tree cutting we've found a list of the top ten women AND MEN in Sci-Fi (we know you hate it, nerds. SCI-FI, SCI-FI, SCI-FI) as voted by followers of SyFy on Twitter, who've apparently they've got a new show coming out called Lost Girl (something about succubi and sex). It's a TV channel by the way.
Anyway, here they are, along with the actual percentage of the vote they each received. No one can say we're don't do science here at HM. 'Do science', that's right.
Sci-Fi Babes
1. Summer Glau (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Serenity) – 81.9%
2. Amanda Tapping (Sanctuary) – 1.1%
3. Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) – 0.9%
4. Jewel Staite (Stargate Atlantis, Serenity, Firefly) – 0.8%
5. Eliza Dushku (Eureka, The Guild) – 0.7%
6. Gina Torres (Firefly) – 0.6%
7. Anna Torv (Fringe) – 0.5%
8. Morena Baccarin (V, Stargate SG1, Firefly) – 0.4%
8. Felicia Day (Eureka, The Guild) – 0.4%
10. Natalie Portman (Star Wars: Episode 1, 2 & 3) – 0.3%
Sci-Fi Hunks
1. Jenson Ackles (Supernatural) – 51%
2. Jared Padalecki (Supernatural) – 17.8%
3. Mischa Collins (Supernatural) – 11.2%
4. Mark Sheppard (Dr Who, Battlestar Galactica, Firefly) – 5%
5. Nathan Fillion (Serenity) – 3.2%
6. Robert Downey Junior (Iron Man) – 2.4%
7. John Barrowman (Torchwood) – 1.8%
8. Hugh Jackman (X Men) – 1.6%
9. Zach Quinto (Heroes) – 1.3%
10. Ryan Robbins (Sanctuary) – 0.9%
No Karen Gillan apparently, or Katee Sackhoff (admittedly, possibly a bit of an aquired taste). Not that those are the only thing here to make science fiction fans angry, but they're a good start, eh?

I liked Wilma from Buck Rogers, can't have been the only one.
@Foonus Oh yes, Seven of Nine - my goodness - that catsuit! I don't think my husband has ever recovered.
@Foonus
GOOD POINT.
Oh do me a favour! Where the f**k is Seven Of Nine?
The funny thing is that Summer Glau was not on the original list released by Syfy UK; a member of fansite The Summer Glau Wiki tweeted to @syfyuk that Summer should be added to the list; a few minutes later, Syfy Uk admitted its mistake and asked tweeps to nominate other people.
