Telly is great, isn’t it? It’s always there, and it never judges you for eating hummus out of the tub with a spoon because you can’t reach the Doritos. TV Choice had their annual awards last night, celebrating the awesomeness of telly.

Some wins (Sherlock, Karen Gillan, The Apprentice) were dead certs, but we’re a little surprised that David Tennant managed to swipe Best Actor from under Benedict Cumberbatch’s magnificent nose, and that Come Dine With Me qualified as ‘lifestyle’ programming. We’re also a little surprised that anyone, ever, anywhere, would ever think Jeremy Kyle deserves any award other than the Massive Shithead Bastard award, but what do we know?

Jessie Wallace was crowned Best Actress, but was not in attendance, because she’s still really sad about the whole bastard-cheating-ex thing. Or maybe it’s because she couldn’t face mutton-dressed-as-lamb Gillian Taylforth without laughing?

The best thing about these awards, though, is the clothes. So feast your eyes on an array of TOWIE stars. We most enjoy Chloe Sims big fake jubblies, and the fact that Arg’s girlfriend Lydia looks a bit like Peaches Geldof. Sheridan Smith looks classy enough to be out of place, in a relatively simple ombre chiffon frock. Holly Willoughby gets massive props for donning Dalmatian print; it’s the print of A/W ’11 dontcha know? Karen Gillan, as ever, looks adorable, teaming an embellished peach dress with shiny loafers.
