Is Green the new Red? Probably not

Chloe Green, daughter of ultra-billionaire, professional tax dodger and Simon Cowell's bezzie, Sir Philip Green has been granted her own shoe range, which will appear in Topshop. Nope, nothing to raise your eyebrow at here, definitely no nepotism at all, move along please.

Following hot on the probably-not-Topshop-heels of fellow billionairess Petra Ecclestone, who recently announced that her chosen career path was, like, totally fashion, Chloe Green will reportedly be taking inspiration from Christian Louboutin by painting the soles of her shoes green, because, like, it's her name you see. Apparently the 20-year-old, who's rumoured to be dating Spencer Matthews from Made in Chelsea, is hoping to keep the iconography of her surname and the brand flowing through the soles so everyone knows that when they see the shoes they will immediately know that they are Chloe Green shoes.

The problem is that Louboutin are notoriously expensive and, because of that, they are highly sought after. however, making shoes available at one of the biggest retailers isn't going to spark the fervour that high-end brands can. It does happen occasionally, but that's how brands like Versace and Chanel work, by selling lots of affordable items, like wallets and bags at an inflated price, and prompting people to think that because it's expensive, before rocketing the price for clothing and shoes, cultivating the desirable brand so everybody wants a piece. Topshop will probably be choosing the quantities of stock very carefully so it should sell out quickly and kick start the desire.

The range is being tentatively prepared for a debut at London Fashion Week next February and is being dubbed 'CG', which is helpful because it means that Chloe doesn't need to sign her name time and time again, because that would be such a bore, yah? Yah.
