Too Grit-ty

Following on from Marc Jacobs campaign getting banned for featuring a picture of a 17-year-old with a large flower in her lap, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) have gone and given the same treatment to Miu Miu, who recklessly featured Hailee Steinfeld resting on a train track like a suicidal hobo in a 2k dress.

Everyone knows you shouldn't muck about on train tracks, we've all seen that episode of 999 - nasty. It might be a different if it's a rusty old bit of line that's so out of service even South West Rail wouldn't touch it, but you know, some people are idiots; we go around copying every advert we see, especially that Sophie Dahl Opium one. Sometimes the John Lewis one (we play the severed head in a box).

So, ASA deemed the above ad "irresponsible" for featuring a child sitting in "an unsafe location". Miu Miu responded by saying it was "based on the set of an imaginary film" and that the model "could have easily moved from where she was sitting because she was not restrained in any way", but apparently that wasn't a credible argument.

Let's not bother telling ASA that she killed a horse called Little Blackie in True Grit.
