Following from yesterday's Daily Fail article 'HELP, my teenage daughter is a goth', we're delighted to announce that H&M has created a capsule line inspired by The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo's Lisbeth Salander. Sure, it's a bit annoying when a film or something comes out and fashion-types are like 'hey, guys, this is a TREND now' and the people who'd previously made the look their niche are like 'oh fuck off', but the fact that both the film adaptation and high street brand hail from Sweden make it a good enough match for us.

H&M has also done it properly by teaming up with Trish Summerville, costume designer of the film remake, who looks like she knows what she's talking about when it comes Salander-style (that's her in the middle) so at least we don't have to worry about a bunch of marketing suits brainstorming 'goth' in the boardroom.

Apparently the collection will be made up of thirty pieces, including accessories such as knitted snoods, backpacks and tribal earrings, leather boots and platform wedges.

Talking about the line, Summerville said:

"We took her [Salander's] basic pieces that we used throughout the film and did a little more fashionable version for H&M."

Yeah, that would probably be necessary - the book-version of Salander was fairly anti-fashion so would probably be turning in her grave (no spoiler), but with androgyny and leather already being AW 2011/2012 trends, why not make the most of it? We like that the collection is a bit reminiscent of fellow Swedish brand Acne. Quite Helmut Lang-y too.

The line will be launched at hip Parisian store Colette in Paris (why not Stockholm?!) on November 28, before hitting 180 H&M stores (and the e-store) worldwide on December 14, just twelve days before the film release.

Definitely more interested in this than H&M's Versace line!
