Moschino's coming to the UKMoschino's coming to the UK

Fashion war

When Stella McCartney and McQ revealed their plans to join the London Fashion Week schedule, it was perfectly understandable, what with them both being British brands (in fact, what took them so long?) However, the announcement that Moschino Cheap & Chic is coming over is a little more surprising, mainly because it's an Italian brand hopping over to Blighty from Milan. Obviously we don't want to stir up competitiveness, but since they stole our model and all - fight, fight, fight!

As confirmed by the BFC, next month will be the brand's first show outside of its usual slot on the Milan Fashion Week schedule, although obviously the mainline is staying there, so let's not get too smug.

Talking about the move, Moschino's creative director Rossella Jardini said:

"To debut in London with Moschino Cheap & Chic is something I have been thinking about for a while. To have presence in a new city gives the younger line a stronger, more autonomous personality.

"London is renowned for its contemporary style and famous sense of humour, making it the perfect place to exhibit Moschino Cheap & Chic's DNA and energy. I'm sure London will be the appropriate platform for this line to grow whilst still remembering its roots."

We certainly do have a sense of humour.

It's rumoured that the catwalk show will be taking place on 18 February.
