Instead of being upset that no-one finds him sexual appealing, Tom Ford has stuck on his thinking cap and done what every man who feels down in the dumps does: goes on a cheap city break to get his leg over. Except for instead of getting his leg over, Tom Ford opened his very first UK womenswear boutique. Much more productive.

Nestled within the domain of Harrods, off the Egyptian escalator and just opposite Gucci and next door Dior and Prada (imagine those as neighbours, all the fancy hats you'd need), the store will contain the ready-to-wear garments, as well as shoes, bags and jewellery.

Marigay McKee, the store's fashion and beauty buying director, said:

"Tom Ford is a true visionary, the master of creating glamorous lust after pieces which are effortlessly chic and all are must-haves. Harrods has a worldwide reputation of innovation in fashion and we are thrilled to open the first Tom Ford Womenswear boutique.

"The much-anticipated collection is inspiring as well as super sexy, with nipped-in waist suiting and blouses in stunning jewel tones, equally perfect for a lady who lunches or a woman in the boardroom. The dresses are in a league of their own and the leather jackets will become coveted jewels, not to mention the spectacular heels. The entire collection is stunning, as in having the ability to render living creatures momentarily breathless."

There you have it people, Marigay McKee says that Tom Ford is the fashion equivalent of emphysema.
