the Vivienne Westwood show at London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2012
Catwalk report
Tue, 21/02/2012 - 14:21 by BeccaDPTrue to form and philosophy, Vivienne Westwood has been rifling through decades of British fashion history to present a collection that references a whole host of British motifs and a dash of that Westwood standard: rebellion.
We love pretty much everything in this collection, from the quintessentially Westwood cut of the asymmetric draped collars, to the cheekily daubed-on tattoo makeup. Every single outfit is at once both meticulous and bedraggled, and the introduction of new prints and fabrics keeps the known Westwood aesthetic fresh. We are lusting after the gold lurex wrap sweater and pretty much every tailored jacket, as well as the winsome checked dress and grey cardie look, which is glorious in its simplicity and manages to make a plain concept look sexy and sharp.
Another amazing collection from Vivienne Westwood: proof, if it were still needed, that she’s certainly still got it.
