After last season’s uber modern city chic and classy cut out detailing, Max Azria has gone to a different place entirely for A/W ’12. Featuring corset belts and an almost Medieval flavour, this new collection is yet more proof that while the high street groans under cheap imitations of the bandage style, this is a label that continues to hit refresh.

Honestly, we’re not sure what to think of the harnesses and belts on show here. They flatter and fit the models, of course, but it’s night on impossible to picture them in any other scenario. The dresses, on the other hand, are practically all instantly covetable. We love the full-length white gown, even if we weren’t sold on the extreme drop waist at first, and the red and white chevron frock is a delight.

The styling of this show is just impeccable: clean, modern and letting the dresses do the taking, and we’d love to have a closer look at those boxy little clutch bags.
