Only Marc Jacobs could draw references from Dr Seuss, Jamiroquai, Dickens and 16th Century Puritans and still be a hit. To be honest, we like the Helena Bonham Carter/Dionne from Clueless name checks best, but they're all there in Marc Jacobs' AW 2012 collection... Mad hats, sparkly buckles, large furry handbags (furry fun bags), oversized buttons and exaggerated tulip skirts in pinks, purples, reds, greens and print. If Tim Burton directed a fashion show, this would be it.

If you dissect the looks, you'll find some wearable pieces - the pea coats, stoles, dogtooth dresses. It's just hard not to take your eyes off the hats. Apparently Jacobs set out to created a fur coat for the head. We think he might've succeeded. Name checking Jamiroquai, though? Literal insanity.

What about the pigeon lady though? Bit of credit for her please.
