Following his hat-tastic main line collection, Marc Jacobs’ diffusion line shows a A/W ’12 collection that is altogether more wearable and accessible, while maintaining that balance between utility and luxury that the Marc label does so well.

This collection uses dark, textured greys and tweedy fabrics to great effect, offsetting them with splashes of bright colour that have great depth. There is evidence of his S/S ’12 influences in the striped, oversized kilt, but the depth and choice of colour gives it an instantly wintry feel. We love the whole collection, obviously, and find ourselves drawn to the little details: the inner-elbow patches on a baggy sweater, the peekaboo double cuff on a parka and the perfect red pout on every model.

Our favourite look is the mannish blazer coat teamed with flat boots and a blue button-down blouse, though we’d pretty much kill for almost all of it. Not a single miss in this collection, not one.
