In a collection that could easily be called Preppy riche, Ralph Lauren has taken his usual aesthetic and made everything look more luxe, more bling and more expensive than ever before. And we like it.

Ralph knows that the only thing better than a three-piece suit is...a burgundy velvet three-piece suit. Seriously, it shouldn’t work, but it does. We also love the uber-extravagant cable-knit cardigan, beaded gold to within an inch of its life, and the whole Gatsby-meets-The-OC vibe in the cocktail dresses. Stand-out pieces include the gold beaded halterneck gown, which makes the already beautiful model look like some kind of statue, and the stupendously spiffy little leopard print coat.

We do not, however, like the heritage trouser suits he’s touting here. A little bit too much like when Madonna decided to be British for a week (shudder), though the jumpers are fabulous.
