You gotta hand it to Karl Lagerlagerlagerfeld for always pulling something stunning out of his tight cuff - this time he created an entire enchantment under the sea spectacle, complete with Florence Welch singing in a clam. Clammy plants Flo.

The best thing about Karl's maritime adventure was that the clothes themselves didn't rigidly fit the theme, so we have classic frocks, skirts and suits in frothy whites with simple highlights of coral pink and sea green.

Talking about the show, Lagefeld said:

“I absolutely wanted to avoid mermaids and things like that.

“I was inspired by the movement of seaweed, its lightness, and by certain fish that have very modern shapes, like Stingrays.”

In no way a dig at givenchy and their scaley mermaids then.
