"The individual who most embodies the spirit of London"
Thu, 27/10/2011 - 17:36 by Gemma Exley

For some reason, The British Fashion Council put their faith in the public to choose the most stylish person in the land. Weird, they must've forgotten that the same public thought Matt Cardle would make a good pop star.

In the build-up to the British Fashion Awards on 28 November, the public can vote to decide the winner of the 'British Style Award brought to you by Vodafone' (that's the official title, catchy right?).

Apparently the award, which was won by Alexa Chung in 2010 and Kate Moss in 2009, is "presented to the individual who most embodies the spirit of London and is an international ambassador for London as a leading creative fashion capital."

We'd say them fruitloop old lady who lives at the end of our road embodies the spirit of London quite well, but whatevs.

As extra incentive, voters are automatically entered into a prize draw to win a pair of tickets to ceremony. For more info, www.britishfashionawards.com/britishstyle.

And, FYI, if you were naughtily thinking of voting for Kitty Brucknell or some such person to give the fashion-set a heart attack, we're afraid it's multiple-choice.

Here are the nominees:

  • Adele
  • Florence Welch
  • Samantha Cameron
  • Alexa Chung
  • Jacquetta Wheeler
  • Stella McCartney
  • Daisy Lowe
  • Lara Stone
  • Stella Tennant
  • Daphne Guinness
  • Laura Bailey
  • Tilda Swinton
  • Edie Campbell
  • Lulu Kennedy
  • Victoria Beckham
  • Emma Watson
  • Poppy Delevingne
  • Vivienne Westwood

Well that certainly narrows it down a bit! Adele to win anyway.
