What an investment

Last month, Nike's attempt to create the self-lacing shoes from Back To the Future II went on sale on eBay. This month, the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research has managed to up the ante (on itself) by putting one of one of the seven DeLoreans used in the film trilogy up for auction, only three of which remain in one piece.

Alongside the infamous car, which is expected to fetch around $600,000, the hoverboard used by Marty McFly is also up for auction with an estimated sale price of $20,000, as well as his self-adjusting jacket and a shirt worn by Doc Brown.

Up until recently the DeLorean had been parked in the old props section at Universal Studios. Reportedly it was called 'Biffs Casino' by local homeless men, who would regularly use it for extended sex sessions.

So that's amazing, eh? All we need now is $600,000 to spend on these kind of conversation pieces and we're set.
