Not going to be cheap

For some reason these last few months there's been an influx of Back To The Future related goods up for sale. Firstly we had Nike recreating the self-lacing shoes that didn't quite self lace and then one of the actual Deloreans that didn't go back in time went up for auction. Don't worry though unbelievably rich film fans, there's more expensive crapola for you to throw your money at coming your way.

Although, admittedly this particular piece of crapola is a recreation of the hoverboard Marty used in the second and third films in the trilogy, making it kind of sort of desirable. Strangely though, apparently it doesn't hover, even despite commenters all over the internet demanding Mattel 'just do something with magnets, it'd be easy'.

"Back to the Future Hover Board: Finally! This totally awesome 1:1 replica of the hover board from the BTTF 2 and BTTF 3 films includes multiple whooshing sounds and will glide over most surfaces (does not actually “hover” – check back in 2015 for that feature). We’ll be taking orders for it March 1 – March 20, 2012, and the final product will be shipped around November/December 2012. Because this is such a high-cost item, there will be a minimum number of orders required to go into production. If we don’t receive the minimum orders, won’t go into production and customers will not be charged. The price will be announced later this month. (Note: Hover board does not work on water.)"

We assume that basically means 'make us an offer and we'll see what we can do' which of course we will, BUT DON'T THINK THIS MEANS WE LIKE THE WAY YOU DO BUSINESS, MATTEL.
