Well that was short lived. Following yesterday's lovely news from Bret McKenzie that a Flight of the Conchords film was finally in the works, HBO has come along and crapped on the party by saying, actually, no it is not at all. 

Although it was only yesterday that McKenzie said him and Jemaine Clement were excited by the prospect of doing a big screen version of Flight of the Conchords, HBO has just realised a statement saying it's not going to happen, which seems a bit cruel. Couldn't they have just phoned McKenzie and told him themselves? Stupid HBO, probably used up all the budget on Boardwalk Empire.

Whatever, let's console ourselves by looking at some clips from the series, then you can play the 'Bret or Jemaine: who would you rather' game.
