Bourne-mouth off

Following on from Daniel Craig saying the Quantum Solace script was "fucked", Matt Damon has described the first draft of the the Bourne Ultimatum as "unreadable". The finished result was obviously awesome, so it's mostly a dig at Tony Gilroy who wrote an apparently sloppy the first draft of script. Bloody lazy writers. You can really tell when they can't even be bother to finish off a sentenc

Talking to GQ about the Bourne franchise he's no longer involved in, Matt Damon claimed writer Tony Gilroy struck a deal with studio bosses at Universal that allowed him to land a large pay cheque for submitting one draft of the film script, explaining:

"It's really the studio's fault for putting themselves in that position. I don't blame Tony for taking a boatload of money and handing in what he handed in. It's just that it was unreadable. This is a career-ender.

"I could put this thing up on eBay and it would be game over for that dude. It's terrible. It's really embarrassing. He was having a go, basically, and he took his money and left."

To be honest, as long as it didn't feature Alanis Morissette as God, it probably wouldn't have been the worse script he'd seen.

Anyway, because he's getting used to saying sorry, he felt bad about his comments after the interview and apologised, adding:

"My feelings were hurt. That's all. And that's exactly why I shouldn't have said anything. This is between me and him. So saying anything publicly is f**king stupid and unprofessional and just kind of douchey of me."

"If I didn't respect him and appreciate his talent, then I really wouldn't have cared (to apologize)."

What the fuck did Gilroy do to offend Damon so much? Have Bourne make love to Joan Allen on her desk before going into makeover montage scene? Whatever, whoever came up with the incredible Waterloo scene deserves main thumbs-up... Now we actually want to go off and listen to Moby.
