W.E can't wait!

Mmmm, Madge and a watery canal passage... Here she is on day 2 of the Venice Film Festival for the premiere of her directorial debut, W.E, along with a variety of other stars, the majority of whom were sporting very interesting faces... Christoph Waltz' is like a cartoon lion's, John C. Reilly's is amazing, Valentino's is terrifying, and then there's Madge's :-/

WE thought W.E would be a pile of shit, but according to the Telegraph, it's "better than expected". That's nice. And who do we have to thank for the film being better than a pile of shit? Sean Penn and Guy Ritchie, of course.

Talking to reporters at the screening, Madonna revealed:

"I am and was attracted to very creative people, which is why I married Sean Penn and Guy Ritchie, two very talented directors. They both encouraged me as a director and as a creative person to do what I did, and they were both very supportive."

So on one hand she's trying to get glory for having been married to Penn, even though all he'd achieved before their divorce was a Razzie nomination for Shanghai Surprise, while on the other she's reminding everyone about Swept Away? Oh dear.

Anyway, another film from day 2 of the festival was Roman Polanski's Carnage, which was written while the director was under house arrest for all that stuff and stars Kate Winslet, Jodie Foster, John C. Reilly and Christoph Waltz as two sets of parents who meet up after their kids fight at school. Apparently there's a scene where Winslet projectile vomits, which got massive LOLs at the screening.

On the scene, which will have the makers of American Pie 9 living in hope, Winslet said:

"It was absolutely hilarious shooting the vomit sequence.

"We were all completely beside ourselves with laughter. I had to contain a lot of vomit in my mouth which is not possible for a person to do. So without going into too much detail, it was a fairly complex rig and there was some extremely clever CGI involved."

The funny thing is, Madge's screening probably involved mouth vomit too.

  • It's not her directorial debut, she directed another film a couple of years ago. I've seen it.
