It's not really flying though, is it?

We're struggling to remember a film where we'd seen as many on-set videos a year before its release as we have for The Dark Knight Rises. The extra early hype can only mean one of two things: it's going to be the biggest grossing film of all time or it's going to be a massive disappointment. And let's be honest, never in a million years is The Dark Knight Rises going to disappoint us. We mean, we've already seen clips of Tom Hardy making Bane look terrifying, him getting slapped in the face by Christian Bale and a full on fight scene in the snow, and even that was enough for us to eject a little bit of wee.

In our latest sneak peak at the film, we've got something a bit different - the first glimpse of the Batwing.

The Batwing is Batman's militarised aircraft, and it has supposedly been given a more basic design to stay in line with Christopher Nolan's aim to give the film a realistic feel. Although nothing looks basic about a giant tank flying through the air, and it's hard to keep anything realistic when you're dealing with superheroes.

Still though, this looks bloody impressive. We're not going to hide our jealousy for the fan who got to stand there and watch it in real life. We'd just like to watch it on a big screen with some popcorn now rather than wait another 11 months, if that's alright.

In the meantime we'll just have make do with this teaser trailer...
