That's what qusay.
All the genres you can imagine! (Actually, four)
Fri, 22/07/2011 - 17:17 by Peter MeehanWe're delighted Friday has rolled around again for two reasons, firstly, it means we got to listen to the thirty minute version of Rebecca Black's Friday, a HM staple, and secondly because we get to spend our ill-gotten gains on lovely alcohol to make us think we have more confidence than we do, and talk to people we think are more attractive than they actually are. That's right, we're visiting our family.
But before we depart, we shall bring you four film trailers or films that will be coming up in the coming months. Films that we have hand-picked because they look like they could be the Citizen Kane of our times, also because they were the first we could find on YouTube, so here you go: Horror Dream House, Drama The Devil's Double, Comedy 30 Minutes or Less and Espionage thriller The Debt. What a lovely mixed bag for you good people.
First up is Dream House, which has horror film written all over it, mainly because it's a horror film. Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz play a happy family who have moved into a new house. As with most horror films, the kids start getting arsey about something. Turns out the previous owner killed his family in the house. But it's actually Daniel Craig who did all the killing. Confused? Yeah, we're not surprised. It might be in his mind, or not in his mind, or it might be both, or neither. We can't tell really. It looks like it'll probably be a good horror film if it actually explains what's going on, unlike the trailer which is just full of jumps and Daniel Craig standing in semi-darkness.
Next up is Devil's Double, probably a true story, with Dominic Cooper playing Uday Hussein, Saddam's son, who finds someone who looks like like him (also played by Cooper) and forces him to be his double. Uday is a party animal, so his lookalike must do the same. Eventually as things go a bit bad (Gulf War bad), the lookalike must escape his life as a double before he's killed. This looks a bit like an Iraqi version of Scarface or The Business and might not actually be that bad, the same can't be said for Dominic Cooper's accent.
30 Minutes Or Less stars Jessie Eisenberg as a pizza delivery guy that two not-so-clever men tie a bomb to and make him rob a bank. With Jessie Eisenberg in the lead playing his usual nervous, uncomfortable role and with Aziz Ansari, Danny McBride and Nick Swardson as main characters, it looks to be very funny. With a pretty underwhelming Hangover 2 past us, it has a shot at being the hit comedy of the summer.
Finally, everyone loves an espionage thriller don't they? The first half hour of Mission Impossible, James Bond when he's doing espionage rather than banging women, and all those other espionage films too numerous to mention. The Debt stars Helen Mirren, Tom Wilkinson and Ciaran Hinds as retired Mossad agents who's mission in 1966 was to track down and kill a former Nazi war criminal. Fast-forward 30 years and the three find out a shocking revelation about their mission and must come to terms with what really happened. By the looks of it, The Debt is tense and fast-paced, or it could be fast-paced and boring.
