He sees dead people - and so does everyone else
Mon, 12/12/2011 - 13:20 by Tim ChippingThe problem with The Sixth Sense is it made the ability to see dead people seem like a real drag, when clearly it’d be brilliant. And that appears to be the starting point for ParaNorman, the new animation from the Coraline people. But mainly it’s a zombie film. Which is also good.
We often forget how much we enjoyed Coraline (and it’s one of the few films to make decent use of 3D) so this could be great. Our only apprehension is that zombie films are essentially cartoon-like to begin with, since they allow things to be done to and with human bodies that can’t usually be done. And so the head-coming-off gag in this trailer is good, but can it really be as good as when it’s an actual head, rather than an animated one? We shall see…
ParaNorman is released on September 12, 2012
We’ll all be dead by then.
