Battleshit (again, too good to resist)

You've already seen the best adverts from yesterday's sporting event, so as a lovely little accompaniment here are the film trailers that were shown at the world's biggest rugby league tournament.

First up was The Avengers, which revealed very little except for the fact there'll be at least two explosions in the film and Samuel L Jackson's Nick Fury will be brilliant. We also had Battleship which, if it didn't have Liam Neeson in, would truly be the least anticipated film ever made. Come on, it stars Rihanna and is based around the board game of the same name, (amazing no-one's made it into a film before) except with alien transformer/predator things instead of normal ships. If you're going to make a film out of a board game, make Buckaroo or Cluedo. Even Draughts would be more exciting.

There was also John Carter, which is shaping up to be a very pretty looking film if nothing else. The impression we get is somewhere between Avatar and Gladiator at the moment.

Dr Seuss' The Lorax is also looking pretty good, and although we're slightly ashamed to say it, so is G.I Joe. How does Bruce Willis still do it after all these years?

Finally, Act of Valour, which looks a bit like an ode to the American military. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just not necessarily something we can connect with. Unlike The Dictator, which looks wonderful, and someone we here at HM can definitely aspire to.
