Here's some new Apps, to entertain, educate and inform, but mainly entertain. We've brought you a bunch of games to help you pass some time when waiting for your rubbish friends to turn up. Games like Need for Speed Hot Pursuit and Atari's Greatest Hits. Also a couple of entertainment apps, one based around music and one around TV.

Hotspot Shield VPN - iPhone
AnchorFree's Hotspot Shield is the iOS version of the hugely successful desktop version. It features secure browsing, provides access to blocked content in certain countries and has a data compression facility, which is great if you have a limited amount of internet usage.

Shuffler.fm - iPad
Collecting posts from thousands of music sites, blogs and magazines, Shuffler.fm collates music tracks into genre-based 'radio stations', providing you with the articles for each track. It seems like an interesting and new take finding out about your favourite songs

BoxfictionApp - iPhone/iPad
This new app 'brings you TV series' you read' - turning popular TV shows into half-hour stories. Silent Witness is the first to get the Boxfiction treatment, creating new episodes featuring the well-known characters.

Gangstar Rio: City of Saints - iPhone/iPad
The GTA-influenced Gangstar series takes to the streets of Rio de Janiero to explore and take part in 60 missions to become the biggest 'Gangsta'. It's pretty much Grand Theft Auto: Rio

Atari's Greatest Hits - Android
Atari were you know, the best games developer in the 70s and 80s, remember? Well, anyway, now you can Relive the golden age of gaming on your Android phone, including Asteroids, Missile Command, Pong and many more.

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit - Android
The Need for Speed series lands on Android, drive fast cars away from the police, or drive fast cars as the police. This game offers "pulse-pounding action", so that's a bonus

Fantasy Safari - iPhone
Safari parks are rubbish aren't they? Lions and rhinos are played out, chuck a phoenix or dragon in there, that'll shake things up. EA have provided iPhone users with a game where they build their own fantasy safari park with unicorns and dragons and all of that. Splendid

Rock Trivia Network Sampler - iPhone
Pure rock and roll trivia from the 60s to the 90s with 240 music-based questions. The developers are trying to push this as something that will bring flooding back all those memories of the past. Mostly ones which make you realise how terribly uncool you were.
