An endless stream of endless running games

The much lauded Barclay's Pingit app has arrived, supposedly making the act of paying money to people a lot easier than just handing them money, and it's also safer, possibly ('my phone was stolen along with my bank details'). Also this week we have a couple of endless running games, RobotGladi8tor, a swipe-fighting game, The Sims Freeplay and an Augmented Reality game with invisible footballs, or something.

Barclays Pingit - Android/iPhone/BlackBerry
Barclay's new app lets account holders instantly transfer money using their smartphones. Users, dial the recipient's number and key in the amount the amount they want to deposit (between £1 and £300), and the money is transferred in less than 30 seconds. Non-Barclay's account holders can receive the money but can't send any. Could this revolutionise the way we use money? Possibly not.

BeatStep - Android
A music app for runners, BeatStep promises to match the speed of your running to the speed of the music. Switching between playlists, it 'underlays sprints with provoking music and recoveries with relaxing songs'. Not sure how well it works when sitting on the Northern Line.

RobotGladi8tor - iPhone/iPad
Fighting robots? On a space station? For amusements across the galaxy? That's pretty much the concept of the annoyingly named RobotGladi8tor. The swipe-fighting game "brings swipe-fighting to a new level". Who knew there was an previous level of swipe-fighting? Anyway, it looks pretty impressive.

Deadline Hollywood Game - iPhone/iPad
A bit like The Game of Life, except instead of becoming a doctor or something boring, Deadline Hollywood Game is about becoming the biggest star in Hollywood. Make your choices in different situations and you could make it to the top of the tree and have celebrity gossip websites being horrible about you.

The Sims FreePlay - Android
It came out on iOS a little while ago, and now it is finally available for Android. Create and customise up to 16 Sims and build them a home, interact with fellow Sims and try and hold down a job for longer than three days. It's the Sims you know and love, but now on your Android phone.

Frontline Commando - Android/iPhone/iPad
Taking down a ruthless dictator you are the sole surviving Commando from your unit, and you're stranded on the front line; what are you going to do? You must survive the onslaught of enemy forces and avenge your fallen soldiers by shooting people in the head, in this incredible-looking third-person shooter.

One Epic Game - Android
Endless running games seem to be popular at the moment, what with Temple Run blazing an impressive trail. Running and shooting is what this game is made up of; kill everything and become one tough action hero, by running...endlessly.

Ice Runner - Android
So you like running games, but didn't fancy One Epic Game because you were looking for one that was more associated with the Ice Age films? Funny you should say that, as Ice Runner is just what you're looking for. It may be an official Ice Age game, but it doesn't really look like it.

Cheese Tower- Android
A cheese-based physics puzzle game, involving building towers of cheese as you control Jimmy, a clever cat just retired from military service who must defend cheese from mice. What seems like a silly concept may actually be a quite entertaining game.

ARBall - iPhone
A new augmented reality game, where you play real-time football using invisible balls. Using the camera on your phone, find and 'kick' the balls with your phone. Still don't understand? Here's a video, in the words of the woman in it: "Sheck it out!"
